The Blog Shop

Hi lovely readers! I've opened up a blogshop that you can find here (or through the link above).
I've been slowly reorganizing closet over the past few months and getting rid of things that I rarely, if ever, wear. Check it out!
I will be updating every so often.
*Note: This is not my room. It's my friend, Celina's. Dream closet right? Ahh, a girl can dream.

October Favorites

Hi loves! Today I filmed a quick video of my October Favorites. I thought you might me interested in seeing them on here as well! It's a total mish-mass of randomness (technical terms there) but they are all things I love deeply.
If you cannot decide which of these fab things you want to try first, I would say the Real Techniques makeup brush is the best investment! It really will make your primer/foundation/concealer/powder go on so much better. This is coming from a girl who strictly used her hands to apply foundation FOR YEARS. It gives you more coverage and less germs. For a cheap price too!
Check it out here.

If you want more details on any of the things i mentioned in the video, click on over to my YouTube page where it's all listed.

Song Style

Music has always been an important part of my life. Having grown up in Texas, I'm a country girl at heart. My best friend and her sister were connoisseurs are finding the best unknown bands online. Music is a great source of inspiration for fashion, which is why I decided to start a new series called Song Style. These posts are inspired by my favorite-of-the-moment songs.
Airport Song Style
Like I said above, country is where my heart lies. Anybody who knows me will tell you that when I get sad or homesick, country is what I listen to. I'm obsessed with "Crying On A Suitcase" by Casey James at the moment. It inspired me for this chic airport outfit. REMEMBER: you don't have to be frumpy to be comfy at the airport! A little effort goes a long way.

Tumblr Crush Thursday

Hi all! Happy Thursday. I've decided to do a new weekly feature called Tumblr Crush Thursdays. Tumblr is one of my favorite places to find inspiration everyday and I reblog obsessively. Check out my Tumblr here!

The week of October 22nd I'm crushing on:
Images 1 & 2: I am in love with this pink jacket. How fun! Also, monochromatic dressing is my favorite for the fall, especially in unexpected shades. And how yummy do these chocolate cups look?! The perfect fall treat. The recipe comes from A Taste of Koko
Images 3 & 4: Doesn't this breakfast look divine? One of the things I dislike the most about college is not being able to cook a decent breakfast (which is my favorite meal.) You best believe I'm recreating this as soon as I go home. This model looks gorgeous but her lipstick is what caught my attention. On days when I feel brave cranberry stained lips are my favorite for fall. YSL's Rouge Pur in 20 Rouge Flamme is a gorgeous choice. Maybelline's Mauve-ulous is a great drugstore option.

Rose Colored Glasses

Rose Gold Love

Necklaces $75 | Earrings $50 | Stackable Rings $145
Cuff Bracelet $300 | Necklace $60

Okay, so this post isn't actually about glasses. But it is about rose gold! And I figured "rose gold jewelry" didn't have as good of a ring to it. Anyways, I digress. Lately, I have become OBSESSED with rose gold. It seems to be the "it" metal of the season. After scouring the internet for some new pieces I found my new favorite site: Gorjana-Griffin. I found this site through Grace (who blogs at Stripes & Sequins). She had a contest and I won the most gorgeous rose gold pieces from Gorjana!

I've found some other amazing rose gold pieces on their site. They might be more pricey than say, Forever21, but the quality is amazing and totally worth the money. I think I might order the 3 Disc Shimmer Necklace soon!
Are you loving rose gold like I am? Do you have any favorite pieces on Gorjana?
PS-Let me know if you know of any other sites that have gorgeous rose gold jewelry!

All Natural: SPROUT

If you know me, you know that one thing very near and dear to me is skincare. Unlike all of my best friends (seriously, all of them...how does that even happen?!) who have flawless skin no matter how many times they sleep in makeup, I am not so lucky. I have extremely sensitive and oily skin I've struggled with acne for years. So it's not much of an exaggeration when I say I've tried hundreds of skin systems and I'm always looking for my holy grail.
One line in particular has caught my eye recently: SPROUT. Christin from With a C.H. wrote about it on her blog and also guest blogged about it on Stripes & Sequins. Basically SPROUT is a 100% natural & organic skincare line, made in Brooklyn, in small weekly batches. As I get older it really makes sense that I don't want to be covering my face with parabens and toxins. This skincare just might be my nirvana!
Check it out here. Have you tried this line? Will you now?

CollegeFashionista

This year, as a sophomore in college, I've really noticed a change in my personal style. For years, I felt like I was grasping for something that truly expressed myself. Everything I wore was okay...but a little off. I didn't quite love it the way I should have. But now I have a solid idea of what really makes my heart go pitter-patter.
This summer I spent hours on Pinterest making a new style board, went on a few shopping trips with my Mum and started dressing in a way that made me happy.
I've discovered that classic French style is what I'm really drawn to. Think black, white and red. Stripes. Cute hats. Pointy toed Loubies.
One amazing thing about college is that it's a time for every young person to explore and find their own sense of style. As a fashion major, I am constantly surrounded by amazingly dressed people (one of my peers only shops at a small boutique in Soho...and he doesn't even live in NYC!) College students really are some of my biggest style inspirations because of their willingness to experiment. Which leads me to the point of this post. For the past year I have been photographing fabulous college students for my internship at CollegeFashionsta. I feel inspired everytime I stop and talk to one of these Fashionistas and learn about what inspires their personal style.
CollegeFashionista is an amazing site that I read daily — and I would even if I wasn't an intern. Amy Levin, the founder, is an amazing boss who makes sure the site is always changing and inspiring. If you are interested in some new style inspo, check it out! The main page changes daily and no matter what style tribe you fall into, you will love it, I promise!
You can even check out all of the posts that I have written in the past year (and plan on continuing with until I graduate) here. Let me know what you think about the site, too!
Below are some of my favorite pictures from the lovely Fashionistas and Fashionistos that I have talked to in the past year.
Can you see how different each of them are?! I love it.
PS-If you are in college currently (anywhere in the world!) and you think it would be fun to photograph and talk about the amazing fashionable students on your campus leave me your email and I will give Amy a personal recommendation for you!

Tommy Hilfiger A/W 2012

Good news everyone! I got a job at Tommy Hilfiger! I'm so excited to start and learn from the amazing team at Tommy.
Mr. Hilfiger is one of the most influential designers to come out of America (and no, I am not biased). I've been looking to his designs for inspiration and these are my favorite looks from A/W '12.

Black And White

Hello lovelies! Welcome to my new blog. After many months of pondering and brainstorming I decided it was time to make this baby happen. My old blog was outfit-post-based, and no worries! This one will have outfits too. But I wanted it to be more than that. I'm going to include my everyday inspirations, lust-lists and lifestyle posts. It's going to be anything and everything that I love all in one pretty place. I hope you are as excited as I am!
I've started you off with a little summary so to speak of some of my favorite outfits from the Studying In Heels. Have a great day, fabulous readers!
(This gem of a photo was taken by request of my Mum. She thought it would be "cute." I just think I look spastic.)
