Rolled Braid Updo {How To}

Hi loves! It's been a while, huh? Well earlier this summer my best friend's older sister got married (it was a beautiful wedding) and this is the hair I wore! I spent all morning doing the Bridemaids' hair and so I threw this up really quickly.
It's a pretty easy style. Rolling your hair into the bun is the hardest part, and my Mom helped me, but it's DEFINITELY do-able by yourself!
step one: tease your hair, BIG, bigger than you want it in the end. this is allow for wiggle room and moveability.
step two: pull a few strands back into a half-poof and bobby-pin. again, keep it bigger than you want it to end. the bun will pull it down a bit.
step three: braid two small pieces right behind each ear. tie with a clear elastic or hairspray a ton (which is what I did) and leave those alone.
step four: tie all of your hair (leave out the braids) into a low pony. as low as you can without a TON of layers falling out. a few is fine.
step five: roll all of your hair up, tucking the ends under, like you're rollin' up crescent rolls. bobby-pin inside the roll, especially at the edges. make sure you can't see the mess happening inside of the roll.
step six: (see first picture) drape braids across the seam at the top of the roll and bobby-pin down.
See? Super easy! I pulled a few pieces out around my face and ears, that's my preference, but you could leave everything slicked back for a more formal feel!
LET ME KNOW if you try this! I would love to see pictures! Tag me on Insta or Twitter and use #moremascaraplease so I can find them!

The Scoop: My Makeup

 Hi loves!
Today I wanted to tell you about the makeup I love and use everyday.
I did a post on my skincare a little while back and it seemed to be fairly popular! I personally love reading what products other people love so I hope you do too.
Some of these things are new and some are old favorites but all of them have been in my makeup bag for at least a month.
I do use other things here and there but I wanted to show you what I couldn't live without!
Make Up For Ever Mat Bronzer: This is one of my favorites, and it perfect for anyone with a very light to medium skin tone. It has no red undertones, which is always the problem I found with bronzers. Definitely worth the investment, mine lasted at least 6 months.
Loreal True Match Blush: In the shade Rose, this is perfect for winter, giving me a glow without looking fake.
MAC Fix+: This was a recent present from my best friend Jenny, and I'm already loving it. I spray it on top of my makeup to give that last little bit of "dewy glow" before I run out the door.
Naked Palette: I got this for Christmas last year and haven't stopped using it. I bring it with me every time I travel and use it almost everyday. You can create everything from a natural look to a NYE smokey eye. I haven't tried the Naked2 but this one is great.
NYX Lipstick: Circe is my favorite nude. It's a gorgeous brown nude that is a little darker than Mac's Creme De' Nude. A $4 a pop, what's not to love?!
Maybelline Colossal Mascara & Lancome Artliner: My go to mascara+liner combo. This liner IS worth the money, as it draws amazingly and won't smudge. The mascara rivals some of my Sephora loves because of the collagen formula that builds amazing dramatic lashes.
Garnier Dark Circle Corrector: An under eye concealer that has caffeine in it, I use this when my eyes get puffy (oh yeah, that's everyday).
Almay Clear Complexion & Chanel Perfection Lumiere: I mix these two foundations depending on how tan I am, but that are both amazing. Medium to very full coverage and a matte finish that doesn't look powdery or dry. I can't go without at least one of these everyday.
NYX HD Concealer: (At the left edge of photo) This is one of my favorite concealers. I use the light shade as well as the yellow shade under my foundation. It covers all of my acne scar redness and created a perfect base for my foundation.

What are your everyday makeup favorites? Leave me a comment! I love finding new products.

The Bigger the Hair, The Closer to Heaven

Hi lovely readers.
It's been a crazy week. Finals is almost here and everyone on campus is scrambling to get last minute projects and studying done (including me). I know I missed Tumblr Crush Thursday this week (so sad!) but that means it's going to be even better next week!

Lately I've been obsessed with all things hair related. From my new Kenra Hot Spray to my favorite teasing brush, bigger has been better. I guess my inner Texan is coming out!
I've been watching Megan (Ciaoobelllaxo on YouTube) and her hair is amazing! Sometimes I just want a little more drama than the curls I wear everyday.
Here is some Inspo I've been gathering.
I just think slightly-messy, voluminous hair is so effortlessly feminine and sexy!
Maybe I'll do a tutorial on how I get my hair big like this soon, if you would be interested in that?
How do you make your hair big and gorgeous like this...Or do you?
